Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati’s Million Dollar Blunder
A mistake by officials of the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati cost them no less than $1 million. As part of their summer promotion they are offering patrons in their Cleveland and Cincinnati properties the chance to become a millionaire. For one or should we say two patrons by the name of Kevin Lewis this dream came true.
However the twist in the story came after the first Kevin Lewis collected his prize and casino officials realized that the winner was actually another Kevin Lewis after performing a verification check.
As any good public relations expert knows the is no bad publicity and Horseshoe Cincinnati Senior Vice President and General Manager Kevin Kline decided to go the extra mile and award the dream $1 million prize to both of them. He was not shy in taking responsibility for the “Kevin Lewis blunder” and said,” This was our blunder. So, consistent with our commitment to do the right thing for our guests, Horseshoe awarded a $1 million prize to both men.”
While this lucky blunder rewarded the Lewis’s handsomely, it will cost the Horseshoe properties an additional $1 million in their summer prizes. Cynics would even say that the positive publicity they have received more than makes up for their losses.
